Compostable Plastics are a kind of biodegradable plastics. They can biodegrade under composting conditions. If they are randomly discarded in the natural environment, they cannot be completely degraded in a short time. The adverse environmental effects are not substantially different from those of traditional plastics.
In addition, some studies have pointed out that biodegradable plastics, if mixed into other recyclable plastics, will reduce the characteristics and performance of recycled materials.
